wedding was nuts

wen and sandy tried to do way too much - speeches from friends & family, games, tea ceremony, slide show, cake cutting, first dance.. - it's nuts that they didnt hire a planner. in the end lei, eugene and i had to be the last min planners/coordinators. afterall we dont wanna do a bad job knowing that a gd # of ppl from mcK and kpcb are going.

we were up till 4am sun to make final changes to the schedule and write the script. we got up at 9am to practise, arrange w the caterers and the band, and make sure we have the mic, the speakers, the projectors, the screens etc.

the evening went ok, the band totally sucks (multiple times they disppeared for coffee when we needed the music!). from the mc's side it's chaotic b/c of all the last-min changes. but the audience seems to be having fun; i guess that's all that it matters.

if there's anything i learnt from this weekend, it'd be that i do not want to be a wedding planner, nor do i want a wedding if i were to get married. it's too expensive, too stressful.

in any case i swear i am done w weddings for another half year. i had a really bad cramp sunday night b/c i was running around on high heels all day non stop. but i have to say it's fun and v satisfying to work w lei and eugene, a mcK partner and a hedge fundER - there aren't that many smart and motivated ppl on earth!

i am gonna be the MC for my friend's wedding next weekend! and a bridesmaid-standby! i couldn't sleep at all last night; and today i got up at 7am, and have been running around like a chicken without a head.

what am i supposed to say, what am i supposed to wear!? for 150 people!!! jesus christ!
